Art Scenes of Note

When one thinks of the most “important” goings-on in the art world taking place internationally throughout the year, the mind naturally turns to such prominent and well-publicized events as:

  • Venice Art Biennale, the oldest continuous contemporary visual art exhibition, and the one upon which others in the world have been modeled.
  • Art Basel, indubitably the world’s biggest contemporary art fair, held variously in Basel, Switzerland; Miami Beach, Florida; and Hong Kong, China.
  • Frieze Art Fair, which exhibits contemporary art in London, New York, and Los Angeles.
  • The Armory Show, considered one of the leading cultural destination for discovering and collecting the world’s most important 20th and 21st-century art.
